To register for admission: please use the APPLY button and fill out the registration forms electronically, this will start the admissions process to the entrance exam. Call our admissions team on: 078077 36880. Boys only boarding school from Class 4 – 12. Overseas students can do the test online by arrangement.
Our main entrance exam centres are in Shimla and Delhi, with Kolkata, Mumbai and Kathmandu on demand for the next academic year 2026. **Next Entrance test date: Shimla – Saturday 8th February 2025 for the academic year 2025.

Our Academic results are high – our toppers scored 98% in Class 12 Science stream and 97% for Class 10 this year. Bishop Cotton School has recently been accredited as a Cambridge International School and is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE). A CBSE candidate, or other board, can join an ISC School if the school has place to admit him. The Cambridge board started for Class 9 students upwards in 2023 and gives students international opportunities with GCSEs and A’Level exams.
Bishop Cotton School, Shimla will be holding admissions tests along with presentations on life at BCS for the next academic year. We currently have long waiting lists into the Middle School year groups and it is advisable to take entry into the school before then to avoid disappointment.

Candidates applying for the Junior and Middle schools will be asked to complete a written English compostion and will then take a Maths test. This is to assess their ability in these subjects and where improvements can be made. Each applicant will then be individually interviewed, in English, by their head of section, or older students by the Headmaster to find out their dreams and aspirations. Parents will be asked to meet the Director, Head of School, Mr Simon Weale for a short chat. We would encourage parents to remember children are coming to BCS to make friends and enjoy boarding life.
Director Simon Weale explained ‘We are looking for students who show promise not just in the classroom, but in every sphere of activity. Our academic leaders have considerable experience in drawing the best out of each child and they will ensure that the interview is a positive and rewarding experience for each child. Our topper this year scored an amazing 98% in his final Class XII exams, this boy is studying AI in America.’
